Of Comics and Art

image

One of my classmates introduced me to comics recently. Yes that’s what I’ve been doing all the while. The stories are fascinating no doubt, but what really caught my fancy the first time was the art that goes into its making… the colors, textures and lines… each different and equally mesmerising.

So after all the admiration, I thought I’d give it a try, this was again  from the cover of my friends comic “The Killing Joke”. Hope you guys like it!

Oh and I love this quote from the book!

All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That’s how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.

  1. I’m with you on comic art. I was a DC fan until Stan Lee took over Marvel and then it was like comparing street graffiti to the Sistine Chapel. I love it. Still a fan. I also loved Heavy Metal magazine. Some of the finest yet.

Oh, and thank you for liking my poem Name That Goon. I am thinking of making it my first serial poem. Please do come back. There are well over 400 poems on a multitude of subjects just lurking there for you t read and enjoy.

  2. It is time to rethink the comic book. In a recent article on my blog site Entitled “It’s time to rethink the comic book” I interviewed the owner of a comic book shop who praised the level of artwork conatined within each issue. The attention to details and care given the works of art is amazing. Bravo on your endorsement. Enjoy the day.
