Of Scars and Tattoos

A beautiful phoenix on my arm, thanks to Alice!

She could feel their gaze
Descend from her breasts
To the design on her arm
And rest there comfortably
Conveniently judging
They constructed her future
Dissected her past
And pitied her present
A parallel life
Fashioned by their misconceptions
To be discussed, debated
Among their personal circles

Back home, looking at
Black ink and water
A mΓ©lange of colors, spiralling
Into the depths of the drain
She pondered,
When a temporary tattoo
Resulted in this,
How could she even hope
To find someone
Who would appreciate her scars?

  1. Powerful πŸ™‚ Loved the starting and the realization of mean mindedness of people and how blindly we are in search for someone special. Just as us, the other person is blindly searching and there are less chances for both the blind people meet each other πŸ˜€ One has to find, instead of search and hopefully, the scars will be accepted then πŸ™‚ Loved your way of expressing Sangeetha πŸ™‚
