Words and Pictures #1

Don’t you just love that movie? (“Words and Pictures” I mean). Both the bibliophile and the artist in me had a blast watching it. As they say, “Imitation is the best form of flattery” ๐Ÿ˜‰ I “borrowed” the title! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, this is a very simple painting (water color) by me, with a very powerful quote, by Frost. One of my favourite quotes, I must say.

In case you find the writing illegible ๐Ÿ˜‰ , the quote is:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

  1. “And miles to go before I sleep”. It says so much!
Nice painting by the way. I find it interesting in that although the painting is not visually balanced (it is left side “heavy”), it does not seem that way by virtue of the poem lines being “spotlighted”! By design? By chance? It matters not – a lovely painting.

      1. Interesting. I have a background which includes much exposure to various art forms and my immediate reaction to your painting was how well the quote complimented the surrounding artwork. If I understand you correctly, it is the art work which is complimenting the quote. Very good. ๐Ÿ™‚
