On A Hospital Bed

She could now see clearly,
Through all her worries
As she shifted through
The debris in her mind.
At last, She found
The treasure she was seeking,
A host of old memories
Long forgotten and ignored,
Begging to be set free.
She obliged,
As she lost herself in them;
Once again, experiencing
Boundless ecstasy,
And an inexplicable feeling of liberty.

“Look Dad, Mom is smiling,
Maybe this is what she wants,”
Said her innocent child,
As the doctor unplugged her life support.
